Abovestone is a new rooftop bar in Soi Sukhumvit 63 that sits on the 3-4th floor of Bliss Ekkamai (Soi Ekkamai 12-14). Although it leans heavily into the 'chill hangout' concept, the place feels upscale and exclusive. Thanks to the ambiance, food & drinks, and service, you'll barely notice the difference between this venue and five-star hotel bars.
Inspired by the partner team's travels to destinations such as Japan and Europe, the venue uses mainly classy copper tones. After taking the glass elevator to the third floor, you'll arrive in the lounge area. Decorated with wood, leather, and stones, it feels luxurious and relaxing lit in dim orange lights. The lounge also features its small bar counter.
On the fourth floor, you'll find three individual zones. First, the open-air area allows you to take in the view of the Sukhumvit 63 Road and the surrounding residential areas. Then, there's the cozy indoor nook that features a 'starlit sky' with blue lights on the ceiling. It's a befitting transition to the last zone, the stageside seatings.
This last zone is where you'll want to be to catch the live performance. Every day, Abovestone books live bands to play Thai and international tunes, mostly folk, acoustic, and easy-listening hits. You can enjoy live music from Monday to Sunday between 20.00 - 21.30 and 22.00 - 23.30.
After the bands leave the stage, get ready to groove to hip-hop and R&B beats and enjoy the fun & lively vibes.
Next to the stage is a small stairwell, which will take you to the rooftop deck. This is where you'll find a charming, garden-style nook where you can chill in a more private setting.
Abovestone's chefs are meticulous in creating the menu, bringing dishes often found in hotels to this Ekkamai bar. Most of the items are modern Western-style delights such as pizzas, salads, pasta, steaks, burgers, and cold cuts. That said, you can also get Thai bar bits and shared dishes such as fried wings, fried chicken joint naem, sea bass phad cha, shrimp in tamarind sauce, chicken panaeng, grilled pork with lime sauce, soft-shelled crab in spicy mango salad, and many more.
As for the drinks, you'll have plenty of options. White wines, red wines, champagnes, spirits, beers, classic cocktails, mocktails, and other soft drinks, to name a few. Abovestone's recommendation is the 14 signature cocktails – mostly fruity concoctions that are refreshing and easy to enjoy.
